Cultural Activities

Way Beyond the Classroom Walls

At our school, students can enjoy a different guided cultural activity every week of the year. These weekly outings are carefully planned to complement your classroom learning and to offer a fun and engaging way to experience Spanish beyond the textbook. Whether it’s a visit to a museum, a stroll through historic neighborhoods, or a local event, each activity gives you the chance to practice Spanish in real-life contexts. Cultural activities are an essential part of the learning journey. They allow you to immerse yourself in the language in a relaxed and authentic setting, helping you gain confidence and fluency naturally. While exploring Madrid’s most iconic cultural and leisure spots, you’ll also gain a deeper understanding of daily life in the city.

All cultural activities organised by Cronopios are offered free of charge to our students, their guests, and anyone interested in learning Spanish at our school.
Methodology

Language in Action

Learning Spanish is not just about memorizing grammar rules; it’s about living the language. Our methodology is based on a communicative and task-based approach, where students actively participate in their learning from day one.

Through dynamic activities and real-life situations, we encourage practical use of Spanish, ensuring that each student builds confidence and fluency in a motivating and welcoming environment.

The student as an active protagonist

Students take a central role in their learning process by completing tasks that engage them and allow them to use the language in real-life situations.

Practical use of the language

Tasks are designed to ensure language learning happens through effective and meaningful use, simulating real-life communication contexts.

Action-oriented approach

The teaching-learning process focuses on practical activities with a clear objective, facilitating the acquisition of more integrated and functional language skills.

Evaluation of process and results

Both the final product and the process of completing the task are assessed, valuing language use and the active participation of students.

DELE

Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language

The Diploma Oficial de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) is an internationally recognized certification of proficiency in the Spanish language, awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport. The DELE is one of the most prestigious and widely accepted qualifications for non-native Spanish speakers, providing evidence of a student’s linguistic skills in the language.
Levels and Structure:
The DELE exam is divided into six levels, ranging from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficient), based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Each level tests the candidate’s ability to communicate in various everyday situations, with increasing complexity as the levels progress. These levels include:

A1: Beginner – Can understand and use basic expressions for everyday needs.
A2: Elementary – Can communicate in simple tasks requiring a direct exchange of information.
B1: Intermediate – Can deal with most situations that may arise while traveling in a Spanish-speaking country.
B2: Upper Intermediate – Can interact with native speakers fluently and spontaneously.
C1: Advanced – Can produce clear, well-structured text on complex subjects.
C2: Proficient – Can express themselves fluently and precisely in any situation.

Registration for the DELE exams

The registration and the corresponding payment of the DELE exam tests must be done online, after having registered and logged in on the website examenes.cervantes.es.

CCSE

Constitutional and Sociocultural Knowledge of Spain

The CCSE is a standardized exam designed and administered by the Instituto Cervantes. It assesses a candidate’s knowledge of the Spanish Constitution, as well as the country’s cultural, historical, and social realities. Successfully passing the CCSE is one of the legal requirements for obtaining Spanish nationality through residency.   Recognition and Purpose: The CCSE test is officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Justice and is a mandatory step for most foreign nationals applying for Spanish citizenship. It is designed to ensure that applicants have a basic understanding of the civic and cultural framework of Spanish society.   Structure of the Test: The exam consists of 25 multiple-choice questions, divided into two main sections:
  • Government, Law, and Citizen Participation (60%) Includes topics related to the Spanish Constitution, fundamental rights and duties, national institutions, and the structure of the Spanish government.
  • Culture, History, and Society (40%) Covers daily life in Spain, cultural traditions, geography, historical events, and relevant social customs.
Candidates must correctly answer at least 15 out of 25 questions to pass the test. The exam is conducted in Spanish, but the required level of language proficiency is basic, making it accessible even to those who are still learning the language.   Frequency and Availability: The CCSE is offered multiple times throughout the year at accredited examination centers worldwide, including our school. Registration and preparation materials are available through the Instituto Cervantes.

Registration for the CCSE exams

The price for the exam registration is €85, and is paid directly to Instituto Cervantes through its website. Enrollment in the CCSE test gives the right to take the exam up to a maximum of two times, only in case that a candidate does not pass the test on the first attempt, or has not been present at the first round. Price includes preparation materials and a certificate with your qualification. The registration for taking the CCSE must be done electronically through the CCSE portal.
