Everybody thinks that Spain’s climate is warm all the year round, and that’s true. However, during summer, in some regions like Madrid it can be very hot.
During your stay in Madrid enjoying a Spanish course with us, there are many ways to stay cool in Madrid’s hot summer. Here are some recommendations right in the center and in the surroundings.
This is the best option if you don’t want to move from the city center. Since the 17th Century, Madrid’s green heart, provides fresh air, long promenades to take a stroll or a big lake where you can rent a boat and feel like a little sailor.
Casa de Campo is not located in the city center, but close to it. A former royal hunting estate, now a public urban forest situated west of central Madrid. Apart from biking you can also take a swim at the public city pool.
Very close to Madrid is Sierra de Guadarrama, Madrid’s closest mountain range. That’s an area full of interesting towns like El Escorial or Guadarrama, and beautiful pine’s forests.
- Night life:
Madrid bars and terrazas are usually open till 00:00 – 1:00 at night and madrileños love to have a drink even during the weekdays. It’s a good idea to join them and live the night summer, life when the air is much cooler and the streets are full of people.
