During august, many neighbourhoods in Madrid celebrate their festivals. Some of them are very popular between Madrileños and have a long history. These festivals combine tradition and modernity, folk music with pop or dance music, and are the best option for summer nights if you are in town. These are some of the most famous ones:
La Paloma (La Latina)
This is the festivity of the neighbourhood of the famous Rastro, Madrid’s most popular fleamarket.
Apart from the bars on the streets, there’s a full program of activities and concerts at night in an amazing place, Vistillas’ lookout.
San Cayetano (El Rastro)
Very close to the previous one. A lot of people dancing in the streets well along into night, and many bars that open the whole night.
San Lorenzo (Lavapies)
Full of street bars all over the place. Nice people in hot Lavapies nights.
